Bus driver threatens another columbine in work dispute

The columbine has long been a fixture in the West Coast cycling scene.

It is a beautiful motorcycle with a very unique styling and was popular with the "back to the streets" community for its reliability, speed and price. The Colu has an awesome ride which puts you in the car seat and offers the rider all day long of enjoyment, peace of mind and a long range experience.

Columbines have been used around the world by many cyclists for years and there is a cult following.

But in 2008 the Colu motorist went to an arbitration hearing after the company refused to pay him for two weeks of work.

The arbitration hearing saw the Colu truck driver receive some of the highest judgement fees and fines in the history of the company in the "Case of Calle" and was declared a "lawsuit for hire" by Judge Paul K. Sillerman III.

The columbine, as the motorist is known at the hearing was found to be a "lawsuit for hire" by Judge Paul K. Sillerman III. (Calle Court of Appeal) "The court found that the Colu, despite its reputation for reliability, has a history of poor safety standards and a history of serious accidents in the past and it appears that there was an 'incident in the road' that led to the termination of [Colu's] licence. In this context, there is some question whether the Colu had actually been involved in any 'accidents in the road,'" stated the judge.

Sillerman's ruling led the Colu to re-examine its legal options as the car manufacturer now has a new name: Ford Motor Company Inc.

A spokeswoman for Ford Motor Co., Canada told CBC News "Columbines are one of our biggest selling models with a huge follow on on both Ford Motor's website and online retailers such as Amazon.ca."

While the Colu truck has been used around the world for years, it is this particular brand that could prove to be the biggest hit by the new company coming in.

Calle's owner, Tony Graziani, has tried for years to stop the Colu truck from taking off. A court case, however, may give him a chance to prevent it.

A recent court case from 2004 was dismissed last week when the court ruled that Graziani had done enough to fight Ford's claims against him but also ruled the truck was an invention and should be treated like a legitimate property with legal standing.

Victims girlfriend says jail time is suitable penalty

The judge ordered the men to not re-offend and that they should serve no more than two-and-a-half years in jail.

Mr Justice Tully said the "brazen" offences were a huge disgrace to the community.

"These offences should never have happened and, even if they had, these offenders were lucky to have been caught," he said.

"I am pleased that the sentence of 12 months imprisonment is now fitting and appropriate."

Jailing the men, Justice Tully said: "You put a lot of pressure on your partners - often times at serious emotional and physical cost.

"In this case, they were a couple who had a lot of support from each other in terms of their families, and they felt some of the abuse which you were inflicting on them would get better for them over time, but when the real abuse began to happen it was clear to you that you had set your partners up for failure."

He added: "You chose to seek out a violent means of getting revenge on an existing problem which was your own creation.

"Your recklessness caused considerable distress to both of your partners, and your conduct was extremely distressing to your children."

'Caring' parents'

A police officer interviewed the woman shortly after the attack when she complained that she was being raped and threatened with a knife.

In December, the court heard Ms Halsey, from Warwickshire, had not been on the medication given to her.

It is alleged the woman, who cannot be named, also witnessed the assault on the couple's home.

Ms Halsey told police that she had gone to the couple's home after dinner to "look at stuff". She alleges Mr Dargle and Ms Halsey kissed, groaned and groaned while taking a walk across the lawn.
